Green Thumbs 4/28-4/30
On April 30, at our Green Thumb meeting, a lot more kids were here. A total of 12 kids came to help us. We had Isabelle, Jessica, Taylor, Abby, Jesse, Brittany, Kristen, Steven, Ariele, Anna, Oliva, and Breanna. We also had Mrs. Jaques and Mrs. Gates here too.
On April 30, we transplanted a lot of the plants in to different containers so that each and every plant has enough water and soil to survive. Now they longer have to compete for nutrients. For example, we had took about thirty Beef Steak tomatoes and we put them in individual containers. So we went from one container to thirty! We also transplanted basil, parsley, and other types of tomatoes. We now have plants in three classrooms Mrs. Jaques’, Ms. Reed’s, and Mrs. Gates’. Everyone had a job and everyone was busy. Ariele wrote for tags for the plants while everyone else transplanted. I, Kristen, wrote this entry.
Here is a tip for all you gardeners, if you break a stem the plant will have no future. That’s why when we took the plants apart, we had to pull the leaves or the bottom. Do not pull the stems!
Everyone is working hard and we just got some more soil! We have got a lot of plants in their new homes! That’s what we did today! And remember, Mother Earth needs you!
