Green Thumbs

It’s been a while! The last time we blogged was almost a year ago! But don’t worry, we haven’t gone anywhere. We are back and this is our first blog this year. We have had 3 meetings already but just never gotten to the blog. We have 6 students here today: Skye, Josh, Taylor, Ashton, Page, and Kristen.

Today we have a lot to do. Everyone is doing one of the many things on our to do list so soon enough we’ll have the list shorten. First off we have a couple of students counting how much money we have. MMS received a 500 grant from the Flannel Shirt fund. We also got 42.15 dollars left over from last year. So our total money is 542.15 dollars which is just amazing. We are putting this money in a account for the Green thumbs. Yes! More money for more plants!

We are also setting up new light tables. This will make sure all our plants getting sunlight even while we aren’t at the school. We have a picture of the plants from another update and the plants our showen in a light table. The light tables have timers so it will stay on until the time is up that was set. Just think, more light tables more plants! This just in, Taylor has successfully repaired the big green tray in the light table! Yay!

And finally we transplanting. Thats when we  put the plants that we have planted a couple of weeks ago into a container with less plants in it so they have more room to grow more. Some plants we have is: onions, sage, marigolds, leeks, parsley, and chives. We will be selling these plants like we did last year. It’s like having garden shop in the school!
